The Oculus Quest is Oculus' first all-in-one VR gaming system. The headset offers a premium virtual reality experience, comparable to that of PC-tethered VR devices, without needing to be tethered to a PC.
It is for that reason that one of the Quest's main perks is the fact that it is so portable. It sells itself as a "pick-up-and-play" device, without the need of an extraneous setup. It is a perfect device for traveling, taking VR on the go, and is a fun device to bring to parties.
The Oculus Quest does have components that are sensitive though, such as its lenses. To keep it protected when you're on the move, you'll want to make sure to use a good case.
These travel cases provide the necessary protection for all the components of the Quest: the headset, Touch controllers, charging cable, and wall adapter (as well as a few extra accessories for some):
Oculus Quest Travel Case
This is the official travel case for the Oculus Quest. It's a soft shell case with enough room for your headset, Touch Controllers, charging cable, and adapter. The compartment of the case that holds the Touch Controllers keeps them separate from the headset, which helps protect the lenses. Since it is the official case from Oculus specifically for the Quest, all components are a perfect fit. Unfortunately, it does not have any separate compartments for external batteries or an Xbox controller. $40 on Amazon
Base Reality Business Edition Four-In-One Oculus Quest Case
For the frequent expo exhibitors and avid VR enthusiasts. Protect your Oculus Quest virtual reality system(s) and accessories with this double-layer Pelican iM2750 case backed by a lifetime warranty. Holds up to 4 Oculus Quest headsets and their respective controllers. Great for on-the-road researchers, developers, gamers, and conventions. See on Base Reality.
Navitech Rugged Backpack
This backpack is designed to fit a wide range of VR headsets, including the Oculus Quest. It has multiple compartments to protect the headset, Touch controllers, charging cable, adapter, and any other accessories within the bag. The main compartment includes additional heavy-duty padding and a secure strap, and has padded shoulder straps and a hanging handle on the top of the bag. It also has pouches for wires and other smaller components. This is a great case for protection against rugged travel. $35 on Amazon
Orzero Hard Carry Case
This hard carry case from Orzero is specifically designed for the Oculus Quest. It is durable, lightweight, and is precisely cutout for all of the components of the Quest. This includes the headset, Touch controllers, charging cable, and adapter. Although everything is a perfect fit inside this case, it does not have any additional compartments for other accessories. $49 on Amazon
CASEMATIX XL VR Case
This 18" case from CASEMATIX is designed for extreme protection of your Oculus Quest. It has a waterproof O-ring seal, a hard outer shell, and foam inserts to keep your headset and accessories in place. The foam blocks can be removed and rearranged to cater the fit to your specific needs. The only downside is that the cutouts for the components of the Quest aren't as specific, but they do all fit. $50 on Amazon
Apache Watertight Protective Hard Case
This rugged case is a more budget-friendly option for those who want extreme protection. It's IP65 watertight and dust tight, and it has customizable foam inserts that let you make the case fit your needs. $24 on Amazon
This one makes the list simply because it is functional! Although it is not a "case", the packaging that the Oculus Quest ships with can be used for traveling and protecting it on-the-go. It’s sleek, holds everything the Quest comes with, and has official Oculus branding! All of this while still managing to be no larger than a shoe box. Sure, it may be a bit of a pain to use, but it gets the job done at no additional cost.
